Hale Uhane, House of Spirit, is a delightful creation inspired by the “Lucky Penny”, a tiny home designed and built in Oregon by Lina Menard from Portland.
Feel free to learn more about this skilled designer by visiting her on the Web: Niche Consulting LLC or on her Blog: This Is The Little Life.
Hale Uhane was of course modified and decorated by it’s proud and happy owner who now lives in it full time in the Kapoho area of the Big Island. The fresh island colors speak volumes of the owners love and appreciation for nature and the ocean near by.
This Hale has a beautiful custom staircase made of reclaimed island woods by a skilled cabinet maker, Tom Thompson, who is now working with us on a regular basis. Johanna Tilbury created the stunning shoji doors for the bathroom and closet area as well as a custom furo which is filled by an on-demand hot water heating system.
It is now possible to double the living space either with outdoor garden spaces or by building a covered deck to surround it should the new owner choose to do this. She has hooked it up to solar and catchment water.
The price for Hale Uhane was approximately $73,000 in the end prior to solar and catchment options.
